Soo's Garden 2022 Winter Newsletter

Soo's Garden 2022 Winter Newsletter

There is certainly no mistaking the season as we experience cleansing cold and possibly a little more rain than we would like! This is an excellent opportunity for me to evaluate different garden spaces, tidy up and let winter vegies have a turn. I love the colour changes and seasonal flavours from the garden that make warming dishes to enjoy in front of the fire. My lavender, roses and lemon verbena have all been pruned and sit quietly with hops and dormant seeds waiting for Spring.

Autumn harvest ingredients, either frozen, dried or bottled in carrier oils form the basis of my Winter production. This allows me to extract and utilise the active botanical compounds as they are needed. Markets have been particularly busy in July and it’s been wonderful to see so many people in Hawke’s Bay, Manawatu and Wellington enjoying the market scene.

Thank you all for your trust and support. As always, stay warm, happy and healthy. I welcome any feedback and look forward to hearing from you through my website or seeing you in person at markets.
